The Vic Falls Carnival is set to take over Africa’s adventure capital for the 4th year in a row with a host of exciting events, international acts, and heart-racing activities from 29 – 31 December, 2016.
Programme of Events
The festivities kick off on Thursday, 29 December with a variety of community parties held around town. One such event is a beach party at Shoestrings – a popular bar and lodge in Victoria Falls. Experience the local party scene all night long and enjoy toe-tapping tunes from several home-grown DJ’s completely free of charge. The remaining parties are still to be announced, so make sure to keep an eye on the Vic Falls Carnival Facebook page.
Things heat up on Friday, 30 December with an unforgettable Train & Secret Bush Party boasting an African Carnival theme. Get your hands on colourful traditional fabrics and some face paint, hop onboard the designated party train, and dance your way to an undisclosed location in the African wilderness. Artists onboard and at the bush party include DJ Francis, Diloxclusiv and many more. This event has been known to sell out very quickly, so make sure to get your ticket early!
The main event of the 2016 Vic Falls Carnival is the New Year’s Concert on – you guessed it – Saturday, 31 December. This explosive end-of-year event will take place at the Vic Falls Primary School and will performances by Locnville, Goodluck, Sketchy Bongo, The Kiffness, Tresor, Judgement Yard and DJ Francis. To ease any worries you may have about getting to the venue, there will be designated revolving shuttles to and from specific hotels and drop off points.
As a perfect way to bring festival attendees together, the theme for the New Year’s Concert is unity. Represent the country you come from in the best possible way; whether that involves a billowing flag, your national colours, or local t-shirts.
