Cruise of the Year Award for Ra-Ikane

By Ilala Lodge on March 17, 2016

We are proud to announce that the Ilala Lodge Hotel – and more specifically Ra-Ikane – have taken home top honours for Cruise of the Year for Zimbabwe in the 2016 Holiday & Tour Specialist Awards.

Held by the Luxury Travel Guide, these annual awards select winners based on their strengths and achievements in the travel industry, from some of the most sought-after destinations in the world.

Given that there were an outstanding number of nominations this year, the honour is something to both applaud and aspire to.

Winners of the 2016 Holiday & Tour Specialist Awards will acquire a place in the Luxury Travel Awards Guide, which will be released later this year. With over 500,000 registered subscribers world-wide, the reach of the guide is extensive. As such, the reach for Ra-Ikane, and Ilala Lodge as a whole looks to be greatly extended.

Ra-Ikane
Three elegant, monohull cruising boats – The Ra-Ikane I, II and III – provide guests with an unsurpassed experience on the mighty Zambezi River. A variety of cruises are on offer, for breakfast, lunch and sundowners. What’s more, private charter cruises are also available for hire.

Zambezi River Cruise
Fashioned after David Livingstone’s exploration boat, the Ma-Robert, and named after the influential guide who assisted Livingstone in his discovery of the Victoria Falls, these boats represent the grace of a bygone era and honour the rich history of this region.

Their unique design enables passengers to be positioned closer to the water, further up the Zambezi River, and closer to the banks, where a vast array of wildlife flourish.
